Become a local host

We work with people who live in their city — not just visit it — to build itineraries that travelers actually trust.

The ideal Sotto host isn't a travel blogger or influencer. They're someone who lives and breathes the city life, has formed strong opinions about it, and can explain what makes a neighbourhood, a restaurant, or a morning walk worth doing.

You should be curious and articulate — someone who can describe a place the way you'd describe it to a friend visiting for the first time. You should have actual, specific recommendations, not a list of the same spots everyone else recommends.

Most importantly: you should care about helping independent travelers have a more authentic experience. That's the whole point.

Kennst du Berlin so gut, dass du weißt, was man besser meiden sollte? Dann meld dich.

🇬🇧London

Do you know which London is actually worth showing? We'd like to hear from you.

  1. 1
Send us a short intro email

Tell us who you are, which city you know, and what makes your local knowledge worth following. Send it to [email protected].

  2. 2
    We get on a call

A 20-minute conversation about how you move through your city, what you think travelers get wrong, and how you'd approach building an itinerary. We're not looking for polish — we're looking for genuine perspective.

  3. 3
    You create two trial itineraries

We'll ask you to review and shape two itinerary drafts for different kinds of travelers in your city. The drafts are generated by AI based on real customer preferences — your job is to bring the local knowledge that makes them accurate, specific, and worth following. This is how we see how you think.

  4. 4
We welcome you to the team

If the itineraries feel right, we bring you on as a Sotto host. From there, you write on a flexible schedule — we handle the rest.

Hosts are paid a fee for each itinerary they create. It's a straightforward arrangement: you invoice your work at the end of each month, and we pay promptly. There are no fixed commitments on either side — you write when you have capacity, and we commission work when there's demand in your city.
