Ten years
in the making

Sotto is what happens when an idea follows you around for a decade and finally runs out of reasons not to exist.

How it started

Sotto started the way most good trips do: with a message to a friend. Petteri, our founder, has lived across Finland, the Netherlands, and Spain, and somewhere along the way he became the friend people text before a city break. Where do I stay? What do I skip? Which neighbourhood is actually worth it? The answers were never on the first page of Google. They were in someone's head.

The idea has been following him around for almost ten years: what if everyone could travel with that friend? And every year it made more sense. Search results filled up with generated slop, review platforms got gamed, and travel content quietly became advertising with better lighting. Meanwhile, the only recommendations anyone actually trusted kept coming from where they always had: people who live there.

In 2026, the excuses ran out. Sotto is that friend, for everyone: a personalised city-break itinerary built on genuine local knowledge, delivered within 48 hours.

We're deliberately small: a founder who is obsessive about cities, and a circle of locals who know theirs inside out. We'd rather do three cities properly than thirty from a spreadsheet.

Petteri, founder of Sotto

"The best thing about having friends across Europe is that someone always knows the real places. I've been that friend for ten years. With Sotto, everyone gets one."

Honestly, how it works

Most travel platforms bury how the sausage gets made. We think the process is the product, so here it is.

01

AI does the boring part

Routes, distances, opening hours, timing: the spreadsheet work nobody dreams about. A machine drafts the skeleton of your trip so no human wastes their talent on it.

02

Locals do the magic

Someone who actually lives in your city shapes the draft: swaps the tourist traps for the real thing, adds the notes only a local could know, and signs off on every recommendation.

03

You get the good stuff

A day-by-day plan that reads like a friend wrote it, within 48 hours. No affiliate links, no sponsored detours, no kickbacks from anyone we recommend.
